About Alwoodley
One of the most attractive areas of Leeds, Alwoodley is close to the A61 providing easy access to Harrogate and the Leeds ring road. The area is well known
for having many local golf clubs including Alwoodley, Moortown and Sandmoo. Moortown Golf Club was the home of the 1929 Ryder Cup.
Alwoodley also has a county cricket club, Alwoodley Cricket Club. It has two senior teams, a Sunday friendly team and a number of Junior teams. The club
was formed in 1935 back when this affluent area of Leeds was growing rapidly.
