To add superscript and subscript buttons to CKEditor in ProcessWire, go to your field and click the Input tab. Under CKEditor Settings > CKEditor Toolbar swap this line:
Format, Styles, -, Bold, Italic, -, RemoveFormat
For this:
Format, Styles, -, Bold, Italic, -, Superscript, Subscript, -, RemoveFormat
